Jess(ica) Westerland is many things, including: artist, writer, surfer and photographer.
The purpose of this blog is just to help people realize their impact on the environment, especially here at the beach and shore of NJ. If everyone just changes a few everyday habits, they can help make their environment a better one. Being “Green” and “eco-friendly” doesn’t have to be scary and take over your life. It can just be a small part of your life. The sea will thank you for it. Like E. E. Cummings said, “It is always ourselves we find in the sea.”

Terrific site! I appreciate seeing all the new resources, websites and blogs created by people who are focused on increasing awareness of environmental responsibility. The main photo on your site, which I see is your work, is great. I’ve also noticed you have linked to my site, Green52.org. I thank you for that!
Awesome site Jess, you did an amazing job…Gorgeous photos and obviously you have studied your topic… Go Girl!!!!
This is really a terrific site. Inland based people rarely get to see the direct result of their actions and what impact they have on our oceans and waterways. Why should they care, it washes way downstream. Right? You do an excellent job of showing their impact on our shorelines and oceans. And great photography, too. And as one environmentalist to another, I thank you for your dedication and commitment to saving our beautiful world. -joe
